Description
Y-thoracic catheter
Special catheter e.g. after sternotomy for simultaneous drainage from pleural cavity and retrosternal space.
- reduces connections
- a drainage discharge
Y-drainage after median sternotomy and opening of the pleural cavity. The long limb is retrosternal, the short one pleural. However, the legs can also be inserted the other way round or shortened in length. The common drainage limb is drained subxiohodially. The argument in favor of the system: no need for two drains, no complicated connections outside the chest. connections outside the chest, simple removal.
